Festive bake off!

Hello all!

Today I have got a whole day to myself so I took full advantage of this and gave life to an army of gingerbread mini-men!

I love baking naughty treats this time of year but sadly these ones aren’t for me. As it’s the end of the school term tho Friday (and it’s kind of a compulsive tradition of mine) I baked these little fella for my sons classmates.

Not sure they quite top last years Rudolph cookies but they are pretty damn scrummy to taste and to look at!

Merry Christmas 🙂

Fast farm food

So today, I had the misfortune of working on a Sunday but to be honest it’s not all doom and gloom because this means I get to browse the Christmas markets and sample some of the tasty market food for my lunch!

As it’s Sunday and everyone else is either enjoying a traditional Sunday roast or carvery of some kind,I wanted something hearty and what’s better than a bit of slow cooked, pulled meat!

I found the most amazing farm stall, using my nose for radar and it served me well! Dozens upon dozens of homemade, locally sourced chutneys and preserves, slow roasted beef and pulled porks!

They were just getting started when I Arrived and in the interest of clean, I opted for the beef brisket, goats cheese salad, pickeled beetroot coleslaw and a generous dollop of onion chutney.

I have to say it was amazing! And I’m most definitely going back to purchase as jar (or three )of the onion chutney!
So day one of the Christmas taste testing, Devon has done us proud, you can’t beat a bit of local produce! But I will of course be sampling the delights the rest of the stalls have to offer!

Located right on the picturesque cathedral green,an abundance of European delicatessen snacks and schnitzels are fragrantly filling the crisp air with mouthwatering aromas. It’s a foodies dream! And this week, I shall get stuck right in (again) and blog until my little heart’s content so stay tuned for some festive food blogging this week!
